Below you will find the ‘Shipping and Returns Policy DISCUSPASSIE.nl’. At DISCUSPASSIE.nl, you can come and personally select your new discus fish at our location in Heythuysen, Limburg. You can also order them online via our website and have them delivered to your home. Whichever option you choose, we believe it is important that your new discus fish have a comfortable and pleasant journey to your home. This ensures that they are delivered quickly and safely to your doorstep. We strive to ship your order as carefully and quickly as possible. That is why you will find our shipping and returns policy below. Please read this carefully before making a purchase.

How it works
Ordering fish, food and accessories via our website and having them delivered to your home is simple. It works in four steps:
1. Place an order via our website.
2. After placing your order, DISCUSPASSIE.nl will contact you to schedule a delivery date. We always do this in mutual consultation to ensure that someone is at home when the fish are delivered to you. Are you only ordering food and/or accessories? Then this will be automatically delivered within a few working days (without DISCUSPASSIE.nl contacting you to schedule a delivery date).
3. One day before delivery, you will receive an email with a track and trace link. This allows you to follow the fish on their way and see the time slot in which the fish will be delivered on the agreed day.
4. The fish will be delivered to you on the agreed day.
How many fish fit in a box?
The discus fish are delivered to your home in a Styrofoam insulation box. Each standard box measures 48x43x35 cm (LxWxH) and weighs 16 kilograms when fully filled. It can hold the following maximum numbers of discus fish:
– Discus 5 to 7 cm: 36 pieces
– Discus 7 to 8 cm: 24 pieces
– Discus 8 to 10 cm: 20 pieces
– Discus 10-12 cm: 16 pieces
– Discus 12-14 cm: 12 pieces.
– Discus 14-15 cm: 6 pieces
– Discus 15-17 cm: 5 pieces
– Discus Jumbo (17+ cm): 4 pieces
It is possible to combine discus fish of different sizes in an isolation box.
Safety of fish during transport
The transport of the fish to your front door is safe for the fish themselves. This is because:
– Each (discus) fish is carefully packed in triple transport bags (so that they cannot pierce through them) with sufficient water and oxygen.
– Each transport bag is covered on the outside with a black cover (also made of plastic), which keeps the transport bag dark and the fish calm (experiencing little stress).
– Each transport bag is transported in a tempex insulation box, to which extra heat packs (heat pellets) are added. This keeps the transport water at the right temperature.
– The shipping partner for our fish (UPS, see below) is aware that live fish are being transported, partly because the box is provided with the necessary stickers (IATA regulations) for the transport of live animals on the outside. This ensures that UPS handles the box with fish with care.
– Fish will not be delivered if the outside temperature during the day and/or night is below 5 degrees below zero. In that case, a new delivery day will be planned in mutual consultation.
Shipping partners
We only work with reliable partners:
– For home delivery of fish: UPS exclusively. This company (UPS) is licensed by the government to safely transport live animals, such as your new discus fish. This way, we can be sure that they will be delivered safely to your home.
– For home delivery of food and/or accessories: PostNL or UPS. Both are possible, depending on the exact products ordered and the delivery speed required (e.g. frozen food).
Delivery time
– The delivery time and delivery day are determined in mutual consultation (via mutual contact after ordering).
– Delivery time within the United Kingdom is usually a few working days on average.
– For orders to other countries, delivery time may be longer.
– Overnight express delivery is used for fish deliveries (sent on day 1, received on day 2). This means that delivery is usually possible on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays. There are no deliveries on Fridays to Mondays.
Shipping costs
The shipping costs are automatically calculated in the shopping basket on the discuspassie.nl website.
Shipping confirmation and tracking
After ordering fish, you will receive an email approximately 1-2 days before the agreed delivery date with a shipping confirmation and a track and trace link (as soon as your order has been scheduled with the carrier). This allows you to track your new fish en route and see the time slot in which the fish will actually be delivered on the agreed delivery date.
2. Returns
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to cancel your order up to 1 day before delivery without giving a reason. After cancellation, you will receive a full refund within 14 days. Once fish, food or accessories have been shipped by DISCUSPASSIE.nl, cancellation of the order is no longer possible and payments will not be refunded. It is not possible to return the fish and/or products.
Conditions for returns
Our fish and products are excluded from return because they are living creatures or for hygiene or safety reasons (e.g. perishable products such as frozen food or opened care products).
Damaged or incorrect products
Did your order arrive damaged, is there something wrong with the (discus) fish, or did you accidentally receive the wrong product? Please contact us within 24 hours of receipt at info@discuspassie.nl so that we can resolve the issue quickly. If there is something wrong with the fish, please always include a photo of the fish in your email so that we can get an impression of their condition. This photo is necessary in all cases in order to resolve the issue.
